The Rebuild Imo Movement (RIM) has denied reports claiming that former Imo State governor, Emeka Ihedioha, has left the African Democratic Congress or plans to join another political party.
The group said the information circulating online is false and did not come from Ihedioha himself. It also noted that neither the leadership of the Rebuild Imo Movement nor the ADC has released any official statement supporting such claims.
According to RIM, important political decisions like resignation or defection cannot be done secretly or shared through unofficial channels. They explained that such matters are always communicated through proper and verified sources.
This was stated in a release issued on Sunday by the Director General of the Rebuild Imo Movement, Dr. Vin Udokwu, and made available to journalists in Owerri, Owerri.
The statement described the rumour as misleading and meant to cause confusion among supporters of the movement and the party.
The group urged members of the public and party faithful to ignore the report and rely only on official information from recognised sources.
