he Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, has called on members of the public to help identify a teenage girl who was found in Osogbo.
In a statement released on Saturday by the Command’s spokesperson, Adeleke Kehinde, on behalf of the State Commandant, Igbalawole Sotiyo, the agency said the identity of the girl is still unknown.
According to the statement, the girl, estimated to be between 15 and 16 years old, was discovered by residents around the Odi-Olowo area in Osogbo.
She was later handed over to the NSCDC office for protection and safety.
The Command also noted that early observations show the teenager is deaf and unable to speak, which has made it difficult for her to communicate or provide details about herself, her family, or where she lives.
Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo appealed to the public to assist in tracing her relatives or anyone who may know her.
He urged anyone with useful information that could help identify the girl or locate her family to report to the NSCDC office along Iwo-Ibadan Road, Onibueja, Ido-Osun in Osun State.
