The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has continued its aerial operations in Borno State, carrying out successful strikes that destroyed terrorist hideouts in the Southern Tumbuns area.
In a statement released on Saturday by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, the operation was conducted under Operation Hadin Kai.
The Air Force explained that the targeted mission took place on 24 April 2026 at about 6:50 p.m. in Ali Sheriffti, an area identified as a known hideout for terrorists in Southern Tumbuns.
According to the statement, the action followed reliable intelligence reports about terrorist movement in the area. This led to an aerial surveillance mission, during which operatives observed suspected insurgents moving through hidden routes.
Further monitoring revealed that the targets had regrouped inside structures concealed under thick vegetation, indicating deliberate efforts to avoid detection.
Once the locations were confirmed, Nigerian Air Force aircraft launched a precision strike, hitting the targets with accurate air-to-ground weapons.
The Air Force said the attack successfully destroyed the identified structures and significantly reduced the ability of the terrorists to operate or move freely in the region.
It added that the operation reflects its continued focus on intelligence-based and precision-driven air raids aimed at removing terrorist safe havens across the country.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, restated the Air Force’s commitment to sustained operations, saying the military will continue to track and dismantle terrorist networks wherever they are found.
He also assured that air operations will be intensified to improve national security and protect citizens from attacks.
