The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ondo State has announced the start of its Claims and Objections exercise as part of the second phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) process.
In a statement released by Ogunseye Olayinka, Head of Voter Education and Publicity on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, the exercise is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, and end on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
INEC said the display of the Preliminary Voter Register will take place daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at all 18 local government offices across the state.
The commission explained that the exercise is meant to allow newly registered voters, those who requested transfers, and people who updated their personal details to check and confirm their information.
It also said the process will give citizens the opportunity to report mistakes or missing details in the voter register so corrections can be made.
According to INEC, members of the public are also allowed to raise objections against names that should not appear on the register. These include underage individuals, deceased persons, and non-Nigerians whose details may have been mistakenly included.
The commission stated that the exercise is part of efforts to ensure a clean, accurate, and credible voter register ahead of future elections in the country.
It added that under the leadership of Dr. Agboke, the commission is committed to encouraging public participation and awareness in electoral processes.
INEC also urged eligible voters in Ondo State to take full advantage of the exercise and verify their information within the given period.
