Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has said that Children’s Day is an important reminder for leaders and citizens to take responsibility for raising, protecting, and supporting children.
In a message to mark the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, Adeleke congratulated children in Osun State and across Nigeria, describing them as the future hope and strength of society.
The statement, released in Osogbo by his spokesperson Olawale Rasheed, noted that children remain the main reason governments must continue working hard to build a better and safer society.
Governor Adeleke said every child should have access to good education, healthcare, protection, and equal opportunities, no matter their background or social status.
He stressed that the dreams and talents of children are very important for the future growth and development of Osun State.
According to him, all children—whether in public schools, private schools, or care homes—are equally important to his administration.
He added that children remain the “hope, pride, and future” of the society.
The governor restated his government’s commitment to policies and programmes that improve the welfare and development of children across the state.
He explained that ongoing efforts are focused on better education, safer school environments, improved child welfare services, and overall better living conditions for young people.
Adeleke also called on parents, guardians, teachers, and religious leaders to help train children with good behaviour, discipline, respect, and strong moral values.
He warned against child abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence, saying any society that fails to protect its children is putting its future at risk.
The governor assured that his administration will continue to prioritise the safety and development of children, promising stronger action to protect their future.
