2027 race: APC screens Muftwang and 10 sitting governors [Full list]

The All Progressives Congress (APC) screening committee has cleared 11 sitting governors who are seeking re-election ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The exercise is part of preparations for the party’s governorship primaries scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2027.

The screening panel is being led by APC National Chairman Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda and National Secretary Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru. The process is expected to continue on Saturday as more governors appear before the committee.

So far, the following governors have been screened and cleared:

• Abba Yusuf – Kano State
• Inuwa Yahaya – Gombe State
• Nasir Idris – Kebbi State
• Caleb Muftwang – Plateau State
• Hyacinth Alia – Benue State
• Francis Nwifuru – Ebonyi State
• Sheriff Oborevwori – Delta State
• Umar Bago – Niger State
• Dauda Lawal – Zamfara State
• Bassey Otu – Cross River State
• Ahmed Aliyu – Sokoto State

The screening is part of APC’s internal process to assess and approve candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
