The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated that its main priority is to win the presidency in the 2027 general elections and take control of Aso Rock.
The party made this known in a statement shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, where it also dismissed reports suggesting internal crisis within its ranks.
According to the statement, the party remains united and focused, insisting that there are no leadership disputes or divisions as being speculated in some reports.
The clarification came shortly after the party’s national leader, Seriake Dickson, held a closed-door meeting with the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in Abuja.
During the meeting, party leaders reportedly reviewed recent activities and also discussed issues that had raised concern among members and supporters.
Dickson later explained that the discussions were positive and all matters raised were addressed and resolved in a peaceful manner.
He added that the party will continue to engage in consultations and internal dialogue to strengthen unity and ensure that any disagreements are handled constructively.
The NDC maintained that its attention remains firmly on the 2027 elections, with a clear goal of emerging victorious at the presidential level.
