Residents of Bukuru community in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State are living in fear after two young men reportedly disappeared under mysterious circumstances within one month.
The missing youths, identified as Aminu Abdullahi, popularly known as Dan Siyasa, and Abdulkadir Abubakar, have not been seen for weeks, creating anxiety and confusion among residents of the area.
Community members say the situation has become deeply troubling, with growing calls for security agencies to urgently investigate the disappearances.
Speaking on the incident, a youth leader in the community, Ben Sabo, said both young men were active in local politics, raising suspicions among some residents that their disappearance could be connected to political issues or rivalry.
According to him, Aminu Abdullahi, a commercial tricycle operator widely known in the community, was last seen on May 23, 2026.
Sabo explained that Aminu reportedly left home around 9 p.m. after an unidentified person hired his tricycle for a trip.
He said the young man had earlier handed his phone to someone for charging before leaving, and since then neither he nor his tricycle has been found.
Family members and residents have reportedly searched several locations without success.
While the community was still trying to locate Aminu, another report surfaced that Abdulkadir Abubakar, a commercial motorcycle rider, had also gone missing earlier within the same period.
Residents said his disappearance was not widely known at first because family members had quietly been searching for him on their own.
Sabo noted that the disappearance of the two youths has increased tension in the area, with many residents describing the incidents as disturbing and frightening.
He added that some youth groups in the community have issued a seven-day appeal to security agencies to find the missing men, warning that continued silence or delay could worsen the situation.
The community is now calling on the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, and the Plateau State Government to launch a serious investigation into the matter.
Residents are also demanding increased surveillance and stronger security operations to prevent further disappearances and restore confidence in the area.
