Africa Needs Action, Not Just Talk – Bola Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has called on African countries to move beyond speeches and take real financial action to support the continent’s development.

He made the statement on Thursday while speaking at the Africa CEO Forum held in Kigali, where leaders and business executives gathered to discuss investment and economic growth across Africa.

Tinubu stressed that Africa must stop relying only on promises and instead commit real resources to its own progress. According to him, the continent must believe in itself and prioritise African-led solutions.

He also praised the organisers of the forum and the President of Rwanda for hosting the event, saying it was important for African leaders to regularly engage on how to strengthen the economy and attract investment.

The Nigerian President explained that investment will only thrive when there is transparency, accountability, and trust among African nations. He warned that without these principles, investors may remain cautious.

Tinubu further noted that African countries should pool their resources together so they can negotiate better deals globally and have stronger influence in international markets.

He added that he has previously written on the issue of global financial rating agencies, stressing the need for Africa to have a stronger voice in how its economies are assessed.

Overall, he emphasized that Africa’s growth depends not just on ideas, but on practical funding, cooperation, and stronger internal commitment to development.
