Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has approved the suspension of the Managing Director of the Imo State Housing Corporation (IMSHC), Raymond Ucheoma, less than a year after he assumed office.
The decision was officially communicated through a letter issued by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Cosmas Iwu.
According to the directive, Ucheoma has been instructed to immediately hand over all official documents, government assets and responsibilities in his possession to the corporation’s secretary or the most senior officer available.
Although no specific reason was stated for the suspension, the state government indicated that the move forms part of efforts to reposition the Imo State Housing Corporation for improved performance and service delivery.
The government noted that it is committed to building a more efficient housing agency that aligns with the development goals and policy direction of the Uzodinma administration.
Officials expressed the expectation that the corporation would undergo reforms aimed at enhancing its operations and better serving residents of the state.
Ucheoma was appointed Managing Director of the Imo State Housing Corporation in May 2025 shortly after retiring from public service, where he previously served as the state’s Head of Service.
His suspension marks a significant leadership change within the housing agency as the state government pushes for renewed focus on its housing and infrastructure programmes.
