The Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Success, has spoken out against the online criticism directed at the Lead Pastor of Streams of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Eze, following the death of Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo.
Reports say the cleric was heavily mocked on social media after an old photo resurfaced showing him praying for the late actor. Some users ridiculed the pastor, questioning the value of prayer since the actor later died after battling cancer for a long time.
In response, Ossai Success, through a post on his official Facebook page, expressed disappointment over the reactions and defended the pastor’s ministry, stressing that God still performs healing and miracles.
He said it was wrong for people to mock Pastor Jerry Eze, adding that the fact that Alex Ekubo was prayed for does not change the reality of life and death.
According to him, “God is still in the business of healing and miracles. People should not mock men of God because of situations they do not fully understand.”
He further cautioned critics against making light of serious matters, noting that prayer does not guarantee outcomes, but believers trust that God knows what is best in every situation.
