The family of Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has confirmed his passing, revealing that he died after battling advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
In a statement posted on his Instagram page on Wednesday, the family said the actor died at Evercare Hospital in Lagos following complications from the illness.
They described him as a “beloved husband, son, brother, and friend,” and confirmed that he passed away after what they called a brief but courageous fight with the disease.
According to the statement, Alex Ekubo remained strong throughout his final days, holding on to faith and hope despite the severity of his condition. The family said he continued to believe that his story would one day inspire others.
They also asked the public to respect their privacy during this difficult period and requested prayers for the peaceful rest of his soul.
The family added that details about his funeral and other arrangements will be announced later.
They ended the statement by appreciating fans, friends, and well-wishers for their love, support, and prayers during his illness and passing.
