The Agbu Kefas Continuity Movement has rejected the recent political statement made by Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, describing it as misleading and an attempt to stage a political return based on false claims about governance in Taraba State.
In a statement released shortly after Bwacha’s announcement, the group said the former senator’s comments were not supported by facts and were filled with what it called exaggerated figures and distorted information about the state’s situation.
The statement, signed by Mallam Ibrahim Ardo, coordinator of the movement, described Bwacha’s claims on debt levels, insecurity, and government performance as inaccurate and not backed by any reliable evidence.
The group argued that the declaration was full of contradictions from start to finish, adding that it reflected political desperation rather than genuine leadership ambition.
It also strongly disputed Bwacha’s claim that Taraba State’s debt had increased from N237 billion to over N1 trillion, describing the figure as false and misleading. The movement challenged him to provide verified documents to support his statement.
On the issue of security, the group pointed out that Bwacha was able to hold his political gathering in Jalingo without any disruption, saying this was proof that the security situation in the state has improved.
According to the statement, unlike in previous years when insecurity was a major concern, the current environment now allows public events to take place safely.
The movement credited Governor Agbu Kefas’ administration for strengthening security operations, improving intelligence efforts, and restoring confidence among residents across the state.
It also dismissed Bwacha’s criticism of transparency in governance, describing it as politically motivated and inconsistent with his own past record.
The group further stated that the former senator should be questioned about projects carried out during his time in office, including their costs and overall impact.
It accused him of relying on unverified claims in an attempt to discredit the current administration, insisting that the government has made progress in areas such as security, education, and infrastructure.
Describing Bwacha’s remarks as heavy on rhetoric but lacking substance, the movement urged residents to focus on visible developments rather than political statements.
It concluded that the outcome of future elections would depend on performance and real achievements, adding that Taraba State would not return to the past.
