The Presidency has argued that many of President Bola Tinubu’s key policies are designed to support low-income Nigerians and improve their quality of life.
The President’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Daniel Bwala, made the claim during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Tuesday.
According to Bwala, several government programmes introduced under the current administration are already making a difference for ordinary Nigerians, especially those from less privileged backgrounds.
He cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as one of the initiatives helping students who may otherwise struggle to access higher education due to financial challenges.
Bwala noted that more than one million students have reportedly benefited from the scheme, describing it as a direct investment in the future of young Nigerians from low-income families.
He also pointed to the government’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) programme, saying it has helped ease transportation costs for many citizens and continues to attract public interest.
According to him, feedback from people across the country shows growing demand for further expansion of the initiative.
The presidential aide further highlighted healthcare interventions introduced by the government, including support for medical procedures and treatment costs that are often difficult for struggling families to afford.
He referenced measures such as assistance for cesarean section procedures and subsidies on dialysis treatment, arguing that these programmes are targeted at Nigerians who need financial support the most.
Bwala maintained that the administration’s policies are focused on improving access to education, healthcare, and transportation, adding that vulnerable citizens remain the primary beneficiaries of many of the government’s reforms.
He insisted that the overall goal of the programmes is to reduce hardship and create more opportunities for ordinary Nigerians across the country.
