The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned President Bola Tinubu to urgently tackle the growing insecurity in Nigeria or risk losing public support ahead of the 2027 election.
In a statement released through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric said the worsening security situation could seriously affect Tinubu’s chances of securing a second term if immediate action is not taken.
Primate Ayodele described insecurity as one of the biggest threats facing the country, warning that there are plans for more dangerous attacks if the government fails to respond quickly.
According to him, the president must focus more on governance and national security rather than early political calculations.
He warned that Nigerians may eventually unite against the administration if banditry, terrorism, and violent attacks continue unchecked.
The cleric said Tinubu has only a limited time to significantly reduce the activities of criminals across the country, stressing that failure to do so could trigger massive public dissatisfaction.
Ayodele also claimed that terrorists are allegedly planning more severe attacks that could further damage the image of the current administration if urgent preventive measures are not put in place.
He urged the federal government to work closely with some state governments to improve economic growth and strengthen security efforts.
According to him, insecurity is also contributing to the country’s economic hardship, making life more difficult for ordinary Nigerians.
The cleric further suggested that states like Taraba, Zamfara, and Kogi possess valuable resources that could help support national economic development if properly utilised.
