A woman in Birnin Kebbi shocked attendees after she gave birth to twin boys during a fundraising programme organised by the Kebbi State First Lady, Zainab Nasir Idris.
The event, which took place at the Haliru Audu Stadium, was organised to raise support for women-focused groups. It was attended by Governor Nasir Idris, his wife, and several party supporters.
Eyewitnesses said the woman had come to the programme in search of help when she suddenly went into labour at the venue. She delivered the twins on the spot before being taken, along with the babies, to a nearby hospital for proper medical attention.
Following the incident, the lawmaker representing Suru/Bagudo Federal Constituency, Bello Dallatun Ka’oje, announced a donation of N5 million on behalf of the governor.
The money, he said, is meant to support the mother’s medical care and assist with the naming ceremony of the newborn twins.
