Okpebholo Calls for Prayers as Nigeria Battles Insecurity and Economic Challenges

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has appealed to religious leaders and Christians across the country to continue praying for Nigeria as it faces security and economic difficulties.

The governor made the appeal during a church service at LoveWorld City, also known as Christ Embassy, in Benin City on Sunday, where he emphasized the need for divine support in addressing the nation’s challenges.

According to Okpebholo, prayers are needed to help Nigeria overcome issues such as kidnapping, cult-related violence, and other security threats affecting many communities.

He also urged the congregation to pray for President Bola Tinubu, asking God to grant the President the wisdom, strength, and direction needed to govern the country successfully and improve the economy.

Speaking to worshippers, the governor said Nigeria requires peace, stability, and good leadership to achieve lasting progress. He noted that both leaders and citizens have important roles to play in moving the country forward.

Okpebholo stressed that criminal groups should not be allowed to dictate the future of the nation. He said kidnappers and other lawbreakers must not be permitted to create fear among citizens or disrupt national development.

The governor expressed optimism that Nigeria would eventually overcome its present difficulties through collective efforts, strong leadership, and prayers from people of faith.

He also raised concerns about the increasing cases of kidnapping in some parts of the country, particularly as political activities begin to gather momentum ahead of future elections.

Despite the security concerns, he maintained that the country has the capacity to defeat crime and restore safety across its communities.

Okpebholo further stated that prayers offered for Nigeria would positively impact Edo State and other regions, helping to promote peace, security, and economic growth nationwide.

During the service, the officiating minister, Pastor Moses Olayemi, led special prayers for the country, government officials, local communities, and the economy.

The congregation prayed for peace, protection, national unity, economic improvement, and spiritual renewal across Nigeria.

Pastor Olayemi also praised the Edo State governor for several ongoing development projects, especially efforts aimed at improving road infrastructure and enhancing the living conditions of residents.
