The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has completed plans to organise new CAF coaching courses designed to upgrade the skills and qualifications of coaches working in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and other top football divisions in the country.
As part of the programme, the CAF B-License refresher course will hold from Saturday, June 20 to Wednesday, June 24, 2026. The CAF A-License course will follow in a structured format, running in six modules over seven months, starting on Sunday, August 2, 2026, and ending on Tuesday, February 7, 2027.
The training is aimed at helping coaches in the NPFL and Nigeria National League (NNL) meet modern continental coaching standards and improve performance at club and national levels.
NFF Technical Director, Augustine Eguavoen, said the initiative is part of the federation’s long-term plan to strengthen coaching capacity across Nigerian football.
He noted that Nigeria has recently been readmitted into the CAF A-License programme after spending nine years outside the system, marking a major step forward for coaching development in the country.
According to the guidelines, eligible participants include active coaches from the NPFL, NNL, Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO), as well as national team coaches.
Applicants must already possess a CAF B coaching diploma, be able to read and write in English, and have basic computer skills with access to a laptop or tablet. They are also required to submit a medical certificate, CV, and a reference letter.
The federation stated that 25 coaches who successfully pass the pre-assessment tests and complete the B-License refresher course will be given access to the CAF CMS platform to begin the A-License programme.
