Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington has taken a swipe at singer Portable, saying that the money Portable is believed to have does not match his appearance or lifestyle.
Speed Darlington made the comment during a recent livestream with media personality Peller, while explaining why he refuses to upload his songs on streaming platforms like Audiomack.
During the conversation, the host suggested he should follow Portable’s example and release his music online, but Speed Darlington disagreed, saying there is no real profit on such platforms.
He insisted that streaming services do not pay enough, adding that anyone who wants to listen to his music should pay directly for it.
In his words, he said he does not see any visible signs of wealth from Portable, questioning the singer’s financial claims.
Meanwhile, Portable had recently called on music executives, including Don Jazzy, to help him with digital promotion, complaining that he is not earning enough from streaming platforms despite having a large global audience listening to his songs.
