A member of the House of Representatives of Nigeria representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, has collected the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The forms were officially presented on Tuesday in Abuja by the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, who also announced the start of the party’s nomination process.
Faleke, who leads the Tinubu Support Groups, received the documents on behalf of the President, confirming the beginning of formal steps toward Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
The cost of the nomination forms, put at about ₦100 million, is widely seen as a strong signal that President Tinubu intends to seek a second term in office.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the timetable for the 2027 general elections.
According to INEC, the presidential and National Assembly elections will hold on Saturday, January 16, 2027, while governorship and State House of Assembly elections are scheduled for Saturday, February 6, 2027.
The commission also stated that political parties must conduct their primaries and settle all related disputes between April 23, 2026, and May 30, 2026.
INEC added that campaigns for presidential and National Assembly elections will begin on August 19, 2026, while governorship and state assembly campaigns are expected to start on September 9, 2026.
