Demola Olarenwaju, Special Assistant on Digital Media Strategy to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has strongly criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of worsening the economic situation and increasing hardship for ordinary Nigerians.
Speaking during an appearance on Vanguard Politics Hub, Olarenwaju argued that many citizens are struggling more financially now than they did under the previous administration.
According to him, rising living costs, inflation and the sharp increase in fuel prices have placed enormous pressure on households across the country.
He described the current government as a failure in several key areas, claiming that economic conditions have deteriorated significantly since President Tinubu assumed office.
“Many Nigerians are finding it harder to survive because the cost of living has gone up dramatically,” Olarenwaju said.
He noted that the purchasing power of citizens has declined, making it increasingly difficult for families to meet their daily needs.
Olarenwaju also pointed to the steep rise in fuel prices, saying it has affected transportation, food costs and other essential services.
He claimed that the economic challenges under Tinubu’s administration have become so severe that some Nigerians now look back at the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari with less criticism than before.
“I have seen people say they miss Buhari, and that tells you how frustrated many Nigerians have become with the current situation,” he said.
The ADC official maintained that the worsening economic conditions have left many citizens feeling poorer and more uncertain about the future, stressing that the government needs to take urgent steps to address the challenges facing the country.
