Kylian Mbappé has admitted that his biggest disappointment at Real Madrid this season was not being able to help the club win major trophies.
The French forward made the statement after Real Madrid defeated Real Oviedo 2-0 in a LaLiga match on Thursday.
Speaking after the game, Mbappe explained that he only judges himself based on the team’s success and not public opinions or criticism from fans and the media.
According to him, failing to guide Real Madrid to titles this season remains the main regret of his campaign.
The striker also addressed talks surrounding his recent vacation, saying he had permission from the club before taking time away. He added that many people misunderstood the situation and wrongly claimed he did not want to play for the team.
Mbappe insisted that Real Madrid remains the biggest club in the world and said his focus is fully on helping the Spanish giants achieve success.
Despite the criticism, the former Paris Saint-Germain star has enjoyed an impressive individual season and is currently the highest goal scorer in both LaLiga and the UEFA Champions League.
