Super Eagles coach Éric Chelle has spoken about his current contract situation with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Chelle is still under contract with the NFF until January 2027. However, after leading Nigeria to a third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, he reportedly attracted interest from several clubs and national teams.
Speaking to Nigerian journalist Osasu Obayiuwana, the 48-year-old coach said discussions about a new agreement are ongoing, but he has left the negotiation process to his agent.
He explained that financial details are part of the talks with the NFF, but he prefers to stay focused on his coaching duties and upcoming matches rather than the contract discussions.
Chelle is expected to lead the Super Eagles at the 2026 Unity Cup next month. He is also planning to monitor players from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) as he looks to strengthen his squad in the coming weeks.
Nigeria will face Zimbabwe in the semi-final of the Unity Cup on Tuesday, 26 May, at The Valley stadium. The Super Eagles are the defending champions, having won the 2025 edition of the tournament.

After the Unity Cup, the team will also play international friendly matches against Poland and Portugal in June as part of their preparation schedule.
