
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has appointed Alhaji Onsachi Musa Idris as his Senior Special Assistant on Procurement.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued on April 24, 2026, by the minister’s aide on Public Communications and Social Media, G. Lere Olayinka.
Idris recently retired from the civil service on the same date, after many years of service.
Before his retirement, he served as Director of Procurement at the Federal Capital Territory Administration, a role he held from July 2021. During his time in office, he oversaw procurement activities and ensured that all processes followed government rules and standards.
The statement described him as an experienced public official with over 30 years of work in administration, finance, and procurement within the public sector.
Earlier in his career, Idris was appointed Director of Common Services (Procurement) in August 2019 before being moved to head the Procurement Department in 2021.
Throughout his service, he handled key responsibilities and played a role in improving how procurement processes were managed in the system.
According to the statement, his new appointment takes effect immediately.
