Members and supporters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Anka and Talata Mafara Local Government Areas of Zamfara State have raised concerns over what they describe as attempts to tamper with the party’s membership records ahead of key political activities.
The allegation was made in a statement released in Gusau on Wednesday by Nura Rabiu Cibiki, Director of Media and Strategy for the Campaign and Mobilisation Committee of Abdulrahaman Yahaya, an aspirant seeking to represent Anka/Talata Mafara Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
According to the group, there are fears that some individuals may be trying to alter membership data and duplicate membership card numbers, a move they believe could create confusion and undermine confidence within the party.
The supporters warned that any effort to interfere with authentic membership records could worsen existing disagreements and affect unity among party members in the constituency.
They stressed that party faithful in both local government areas are fully aware of the actual membership strength of the ADC and would resist any action capable of compromising the credibility of the party’s register.
The statement further emphasized the need for transparency and fairness in all party affairs, insisting that the truth would eventually prevail regardless of any attempts to manipulate the process.
Meanwhile, Abdulrahaman Yahaya has taken legal action over alleged irregularities surrounding the party’s primary election process in the constituency.
The matter is currently before the Federal High Court in Gusau, where the aspirant is seeking judicial intervention regarding the disputed issues.
The court has scheduled June 23, 2026, for the next hearing and mention of the case.
