Arsenal appear set to miss out on highly-rated defender Nathaniel Brown, with Bayern Munich closing in on a deal for the Eintracht Frankfurt star.
Reports from Germany indicate that the Bundesliga champions are in advanced talks to secure the 22-year-old’s signature, with the transfer expected to be completed soon.
According to football journalist Christian Falk of Bild, Bayern Munich are prepared to pay a fee worth around £56 million, including performance-related bonuses, to bring the talented full-back to the Allianz Arena.
The move is a setback for Arsenal, who had been monitoring Brown and were hoping to add him to Mikel Arteta’s squad during the summer transfer window.
Brown has emerged as one of Germany’s most exciting young defenders thanks to his impressive performances for Eintracht Frankfurt. His rapid development has attracted interest from several top European clubs.
The youngster’s rise has also been recognised at international level, earning him a place in Germany’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
If the deal is completed as expected, Bayern Munich will have won the race for one of the country’s most promising defensive talents.
