President Bola Tinubu has officially inaugurated Muttaqha Darma as Nigeria’s new Minister of Housing and Urban Development following his approval by the Senate.
Darma, who hails from Katsina State, takes over the role from Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, who recently stepped down from the position.
The announcement was made on Friday in a statement released by the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Speaking during the ceremony, President Tinubu welcomed Darma into his cabinet and noted that the country needs experienced and capable leaders, especially at a time when Nigeria is working to improve development across different sectors.
He praised Darma’s professional journey and past contributions, describing him as a qualified individual suited for the position. The President also encouraged him to remain committed and be ready to serve wherever he is needed in the course of his duties.
Muttaqha Darma is widely respected for his academic and professional achievements. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration degree from the University of Liverpool and a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Atlantic International University in the United States.
