Arise News political editor, Sumner Sambo, has said that Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, appears to have lost strong political influence in Nigeria’s current political space.

Speaking on the Arise Television Morning Show on Monday, Sambo described Fubara as a disappointment to some of his supporters in Rivers State, claiming that his political direction is no longer clear.

He said there is confusion in the state’s political structure, adding that many supporters are unsure of where the governor truly stands.

According to him, Fubara is trying to align more closely with President Bola Tinubu while also navigating tensions linked to former governor Nyesom Wike.

Sambo also alleged that the governor is seeking automatic political backing and relying on presidential influence to balance political forces in Rivers State.

He claimed that Fubara’s current moves show uncertainty in leadership direction, saying his political base is not clearly defined.

In his words, he suggested that the governor’s supporters are confused because there is no clear political movement or consistent message guiding his camp at the moment.
