Real Madrid presidential hopeful Enrique Riquelme has claimed he already has agreements lined up to bring Manchester City stars Erling Haaland and Rodri to the club if he wins the upcoming election.
Riquelme made the statement during an interview on El Hormiguero on Wednesday night, where he spoke confidently about his transfer plans for the Spanish giants.
The 37-year-old said Haaland has a release clause in his current contract and also suggested that the Norwegian striker is open and eager to join Real Madrid.
He further insisted that he is serious about his promises, revealing that he has even signed a notarised commitment to back up his claims.
Riquelme explained that if he becomes president and fails to fulfil his transfer promises, he is prepared to pay the full membership fees of all 100,000 Real Madrid members for the next season.
He said, “What I am promising is real. If I become president of Real Madrid and I don’t deliver on my promises, I have signed a legal guarantee to cover the membership fees of all club members.”
He also added, “Haaland has a clause in his contract and he wants to play for Real Madrid.”
Riquelme will face the current club president Florentino Perez in this weekend’s highly anticipated Real Madrid presidential election.
