Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has assured fans that Nigeria still has enough quality players to cope, even without key forwards Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman ahead of their international friendly against Poland on Wednesday.
Chelle had earlier confirmed that both Osimhen and Lookman will not be part of the match squad.
The coach made the remarks shortly after Nigeria’s strong 3-0 win over Jamaica in the Unity Cup final held in London over the weekend.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference in Warsaw on Tuesday, Chelle said some selection decisions had already been made but he would not go into full details publicly.
He added that the Super Eagles have many talented players who are capable of stepping up and filling the gap left by the absent stars.
“We have a lot of good players who will do well in place of those who are not available,” Chelle said.
The coach remains confident that the team can still perform strongly despite missing two of its biggest attacking names.
