Ekiti 2027: APC Sets Up Strong Campaign Council, Picks Uba Sani as Chairman

The All Progressives Congress has officially launched a powerful national campaign structure ahead of the upcoming Ekiti State governorship election, appointing Uba Sani as chairman of the campaign council.

The party had earlier announced Governor Uba Sani’s appointment on April 24, 2026, in preparation for the governorship election scheduled for June 20, 2026, by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The newly unveiled campaign council was announced at the APC national secretariat in Abuja and features several influential figures within the ruling party, including governors, ministers, lawmakers, and senior political leaders from different parts of the country.

According to a document signed by APC National Secretary, Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, will serve as vice chairman of the campaign council.

Other notable members include Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, as well as several APC governors and top party leaders.

The council also includes former governors Kayode Fayemi and Yahaya Bello, alongside cabinet members such as Dele Alake, Sunday Dare and Bunmi Tunji-Ojo.

To strengthen campaign coordination, the APC also created several special committees to handle key areas including media publicity, election planning, security, finance, women mobilisation, and youth engagement.

Party insiders say the composition of the campaign team shows how seriously the APC is approaching the Ekiti governorship election and reflects strong confidence in Governor Uba Sani’s political leadership and mobilisation ability.
