New Agatu Attack: Abba Moro Demands Better Safety for Benue People

Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, has strongly criticised the repeated violent attacks on communities in Benue South Senatorial District, describing the situation as unacceptable and deeply troubling.

His reaction was contained in a statement issued on Friday by his media aide, Emmanuel Eche’Ofun John.

Moro, who represents Benue South in the National Assembly, expressed concern over the latest attack on the Olegabulu community in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State, where five people were reportedly killed by suspected herders.

The senator noted that the ongoing violence in the area has become a serious source of worry, despite previous efforts and legislative moves aimed at addressing the insecurity. He said the attacks continue to occur with little improvement in safety for residents.

He condemned the latest killings in strong terms and called on both the federal and state governments to take immediate and effective steps to stop the attacks and protect lives and property, as required by the constitution.

Moro also sympathised with the families of the victims, saying he shares in their pain and stands with them during this difficult period.
