Nollywood actress Sophia Chisom, also known as Soso, has explained that kissing scenes in movies are strictly part of acting and not meant to be enjoyed personally.

She made this known while reacting to complaints from some actors who said they have never experienced a “good kiss” while filming movies.

Speaking in an interview with TVC, Soso said many people misunderstand how on-screen romance works, stressing that it is purely a professional performance.

According to her, she does not use her tongue during kissing scenes. She added that she usually keeps her teeth closed and only uses her lips to make the scene look real on camera.

Soso explained that she is very careful during such scenes because she does not see the need to exchange saliva with different partners while working.

“I don’t kiss with my tongue. My teeth are always closed, so it’s just the lips. It’s acting, so it still has to look real on screen,” she said.

She added that some actors may do things differently, but for her, it is strictly work and nothing personal.

She also reacted to actors who complain about not enjoying on-screen kisses, saying such expectations are unrealistic because movie kissing is not meant to be pleasurable.

Recently, some Nollywood actors, including her colleague Saga Adeolu, have also spoken about how on-screen kisses are purely acting and not enjoyable in real life.
