Nigerian record producer and music artist Sarz has reflected on his early days in the music industry, admitting that ego once stopped him from working with other artists.
Speaking in a recent interview with The Fadar, the Back Outside hitmaker said he was once very proud and believed he was better than many of his colleagues when he first started out.
According to him, that mindset made it difficult for him to collaborate freely or accept input from others in the industry.
The 37-year-old explained that over time, experience taught him that he does not know everything and that growth comes from learning.
Sarz said this realization changed his approach to music, making him more open to working with different artists, including upcoming talents and beginners.
He noted that he now values collaboration and learning from anyone, regardless of their level in the industry.
“When I started making music, I was very hot-headed. I just wanted to impress everyone and felt like I was the best thing in music at the time,” he said.
“But now I understand that I don’t know it all. I’m always willing to learn from anyone, even someone who just started yesterday,” he added.
