The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has released details of his burial rites, describing the movie star as a loving, kind-hearted and deeply faithful man whose impact touched many lives.
The actor’s death was earlier linked to complications from kidney cancer, a development that shocked fans, colleagues and members of the entertainment industry.
In a statement shared on his official social media page, the Ekubo-Okwaraeke family expressed appreciation for the massive support, prayers and messages they have received since his passing.
According to the family, the late actor lived a life filled with compassion, generosity, laughter and devotion to both God and humanity.
They noted that his warm personality, cheerful spirit and ability to uplift others would remain unforgettable to everyone who knew him.
The family also invited friends, colleagues, fans and well-wishers to join them in celebrating his life and legacy.
The funeral activities will begin with a service of songs scheduled to hold on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Center in Lekki, Lagos, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., with guests expected to wear white outfits.
A wake ceremony will later take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the family residence in Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, in Abia State.
The funeral service and burial have been fixed for Thursday, June 18, 2026, in Arochukwu, where the actor will be laid to rest.
The family appealed to Nigerians to continue praying for his wife and loved ones as they mourn the painful loss of the actor.
