Nigerian music stars Wizkid, Burna Boy, Asake and Tems have secured major nominations for the 2026 BET Awards.
The prestigious award ceremony is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on June 28, 2026, and will be hosted by popular comedian Druski.
The nomination list released on Tuesday showed strong representation for Nigerian artistes, further highlighting the growing global influence of Afrobeats music.
Wizkid and Asake received a joint nomination in the Best Group category following the success of their collaborations and several hit songs that dominated streaming platforms and charts.
Tems emerged as one of the biggest African nominees this year after earning three nominations in different categories.
The award-winning singer was nominated for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and also received a BET Her Award nomination for her song “First.”
She also secured a nomination in the Viewers’ Choice category for “Raindance,” her collaboration with British rapper Dave.
Burna Boy also made the nominees list with a nomination in the Best Collaboration category for his appearance on “WGFT,” a track by American rapper Gunna.
The BET Awards remain one of the biggest international platforms celebrating Black entertainment, music, and culture across the world.
