Arsenal FC are now just one win away from securing their first Premier League title in 22 years after a narrow 1-0 win over already-relegated Burnley at the Emirates on Monday night.
The result keeps Mikel Arteta’s side firmly in control of the title race as they moved to 82 points with just a few matches left to play.
Arsenal went into the game knowing a win would increase pressure on Manchester City, who still have a tough away match against Bournemouth on Wednesday night.
Arteta named a very attacking lineup, and his team dominated possession from the start, creating several chances in the first half.
However, they had to wait for the breakthrough, with Kai Havertz’s header proving to be the only goal of the match.
That single goal was enough to secure all three points and keep Arsenal’s title hopes alive and in a strong position.
If Manchester City fail to beat Bournemouth in their next match, Arsenal will be crowned champions immediately.
But if City win, the title race will go down to the final day, where Arsenal must beat Crystal Palace to seal the trophy.
