Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has revealed the two defenders who gave him the most difficult moments in his professional career.
The Nigerian forward, who has faced top defenders across major European leagues, made the statement during a recent interview with River Rhodes.
Osimhen mentioned Fulham defender Calvin Bassey and Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Cristian Romero as the toughest opponents he has come up against on the pitch.
He spoke highly of Bassey, saying the defender is extremely strong, even during training sessions, and described him as one of the best defenders currently in Africa and also among the strongest in the English Premier League.
On Romero, Osimhen praised his intelligence and reading of the game, noting that the Argentine defender made their encounters very challenging whenever they met.
The striker’s comments have since sparked reactions from fans, especially as he highlighted both physical strength and tactical awareness as key qualities in defenders who troubled him most.
