Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved a small reshuffle in his cabinet following the resignation of some commissioners who stepped down to pursue political positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued in Asaba by the State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu.
According to the statement, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Princess Pat Ajudua, will now oversee the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development.
It also stated that the Commissioner for Housing, Mr. Godknows Angele, has been directed to supervise the Ministry of Youth Development with immediate effect.
The changes followed the resignation of the former Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development, Ms. Orode Uduaghan, as well as the former Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. ThankGod Trakiriowei.
Both officials reportedly left their positions to prepare for elections into the Delta State House of Assembly in 2027.
Mr. Aniagwu said Governor Oborevwori appreciated the outgoing commissioners for their service to the state and wished them success in their future political plans.
He added that the new supervisory roles take immediate effect, while further adjustments may be announced by the state government later.
