Uba Sani has donated 300 Saudi Riyals to each pilgrim from Kaduna State currently performing the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia during a visit to their camp in Muna on Thursday night.
According to a statement released by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Malam Ibraheem Musa, the cash gift is estimated at about N114,000 per pilgrim based on the current exchange rate.
During the visit, Governor Uba Sani praised the Kaduna State pilgrims for their conduct throughout the Hajj exercise and commended officials of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency for successfully coordinating this year’s pilgrimage.
He also applauded the Kaduna State Hajj Delegation Committee led by Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha for ensuring smooth operations and proper welfare arrangements for the pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
The governor stated that his administration made every possible effort to ensure that pilgrims from Kaduna State had a successful and comfortable Hajj experience.
However, he apologised for any minor challenges encountered during the exercise, explaining that such issues were unintentional.
“As human beings, we can only make plans, but Allah determines the final outcome,” the governor said.
Governor Uba Sani also shared his personal experience during the visit, revealing that he had to walk for several hours before reaching the pilgrims because roads leading to the area had been blocked.
According to him, although the distance to the camp was expected to take only a short time, he spent between four and five hours trekking before arriving at the pilgrims’ tents.
The governor urged the pilgrims to continue praying for peace, unity, and progress in Nigeria, stressing that development cannot thrive in an atmosphere of insecurity and unrest.
He also prayed for peace in Kaduna State and called on citizens to reject violence and political conflict, insisting that no political ambition is worth the life of any resident.
Speaking during the visit, the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Malam Salihu S. Abubakar, appreciated the governor for continuously supporting the agency and improving the welfare of pilgrims from the state.
In his remarks, the Auditor General of Kaduna State, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi, noted that Governor Uba Sani is the first governor since 1999 to personally visit Kaduna pilgrims in their tents during Hajj.
He encouraged the pilgrims to continue supporting the governor with prayers for lasting peace and development in Kaduna State.
