President Bola Tinubu has said that his administration has successfully stabilised Nigeria’s telecommunications sector since taking office.
He made the statement on Friday during a speech marking the third anniversary of his government.
According to him, the telecom industry had faced years of serious challenges, including high operational costs, falling investment, and reduced investor confidence before his administration stepped in.
Tinubu noted that the situation is now improving, with confidence gradually returning to the sector.
He explained that telecom companies are now expanding their networks, investing more in infrastructure, hiring Nigerian workers, and increasing digital access across the country.
The president described the sector as one of the most important drivers of modern economic growth, saying his government took deliberate steps to stabilise it.
He stressed that a strong digital system is essential for national development, noting that it supports business activities, education, innovation, and overall productivity.
Tinubu added that a well-connected Nigeria would be more competitive in the global economy, as digital infrastructure continues to play a key role in national progress.
