Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has alleged that the result of the celebrity boxing match involving streamer Carter Efe was not genuine, claiming the organisers may have fixed the outcome to avoid a massive betting payout.

The fight, which took place on Friday in Lagos, ended with Carter Efe defeating Portable on points to win a ₦50 million prize. The judges scored the bout 30 to 27 in favour of Carter.

After the match, Portable faced heavy criticism and jokes from some Nigerian celebrities and social media users, especially because he had earlier made strong public claims that he would defeat Carter easily.

Reacting in a video shared on Instagram on Sunday, Portable dismissed the result and accused the organisers of planning the outcome.

He claimed the decision was influenced by betting money, saying many people had placed bets on him winning. According to him, the organisers allegedly could not afford to pay out the winnings if he had emerged victorious.

Portable also said he was already paid part of his appearance fee before the fight and received additional money for promotional posts ahead of the event. He insisted that despite the loss, he still contributed to making celebrity boxing popular in Nigeria.

He further argued that Carter Efe’s win was planned, suggesting that the referee and officials were not fair during the match.

Portable maintained that most fans bet on him and believed in his victory, adding that he sees himself as a major figure in promoting celebrity boxing in the country.

The singer also referenced his previous wins in celebrity boxing against other entertainers earlier in 2025.
