Nigerian singer Chike has caused fresh online reactions after posting a cryptic message amid ongoing allegations linking him to a scandal involving media personality Frank Edoho’s estranged wife, Sandra Edoho.
The controversy began after rumours spread on social media claiming that Chike allegedly had a romantic relationship with Sandra Edoho. The claims gained more attention after Frank Edoho reportedly suggested he caught his former wife in an affair with a musician, although he did not mention any name.
Although no direct accusation was made against the singer, online commentator VeryDarkMan later reacted in a viral video, analysing the situation and warning that the allegation could negatively affect Chike’s career.
He claimed that a large part of Chike’s earnings comes from live performances at weddings, where he reportedly charges high fees, and suggested that the rumours could make some men uncomfortable about booking him for events involving their partners.
Amid the growing speculation, Chike posted a short message on Sunday night saying, “Pity my soul!”, which immediately triggered further debate online.
While it is not confirmed whether the message was connected to the scandal, many fans believe it was a response to the criticism and ongoing public discussion around the allegations.
Meanwhile, the singer was recently seen at a cinema in Lagos, where he interacted with fans, signed autographs, and took pictures, despite the controversy surrounding his name.
A video from the event showed several female fans singing his hit song Running To You while expressing support for the singer and posing for photos with him.
