Ikorodu City and El-Kanemi Warriors are set to face each other in the final of the President Federation Cup after both teams secured impressive semi-final victories.
El-Kanemi Warriors, three-time winners of the competition, booked their place in the final with a strong 3-1 win over Wikki Tourists at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
The Maiduguri-based side will now be appearing in their second final in the last two seasons, as they aim to add another title to their history in the competition.
On the other side, Ikorodu City reached the final in dramatic fashion after defeating Nasarawa United 4-2 on penalties.
The semi-final match had ended 1-1 after 90 minutes of regulation time, forcing a shootout to decide the winner.
Ikorodu City started brightly, taking the lead early through Ayoola Ibrahim in the 11th minute, but Nasarawa United responded before halftime to level the game.
Despite a closely contested second half, neither side could find a winning goal, sending the match to penalties where Ikorodu City held their nerve.
This will be Ikorodu City’s first-ever appearance in the final of the President Federation Cup, marking a historic moment for the club.
