A member of the House of Representatives representing Kano State, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has said President Bola Tinubu is deeply worried about the recent wave of schoolchildren abductions across the country.
Jibrin revealed that the atmosphere within the Presidential Villa in Abuja has been tense and emotional as government officials continue to monitor developments surrounding the kidnapped pupils.
Speaking during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Wednesday, the lawmaker said the President is fully committed to addressing the security challenges facing the country and ensuring the safe return of the victims.
He expressed sympathy to the families affected by kidnapping incidents and those who have lost loved ones to bandit attacks and other violent crimes.
According to him, the Federal Government is making every effort to improve the security situation and secure the release of those currently in captivity.
Jibrin stated that discussions at the Presidential Villa have been dominated by concerns over the abducted schoolchildren and the pain being experienced by their families.
He maintained that President Tinubu is personally involved in efforts to tackle insecurity and remains focused on finding lasting solutions to the problem.
The lawmaker stressed that government agencies are working round the clock to ensure the kidnapped children are rescued and reunited with their loved ones as quickly as possible.
He added that the President remains concerned about the situation and is determined to strengthen security measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
