A private security guard working for a Minna-based businessman, popularly known as Alhaji Danjuma, has allegedly disappeared with his employer’s two children, Umar and Anas, both aged six, taking them to an unknown destination.

The incident was said to have happened on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in the Brighter Area of Minna, where the children were last seen with the security guard identified as Sani Abdulrahman.

According to the children’s father, Abdulrahman, the guard had informed the family that he was taking the boys out to celebrate Sallah in town.

However, both the children and the security guard failed to return home, raising serious concern among family members who immediately began searching hospitals and other locations across Minna, fearing an accident might have occurred.

The situation later worsened when unknown individuals contacted the family and allegedly demanded ransom for the release of the children.

The distraught father said, “I later received a phone call that evening from people claiming they were in Erena Forest in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State with my children.”

He appealed to the Niger State Government, security agencies, and members of the public to help secure the safe return of his sons.

Confirming the incident, the Niger State Police Command spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said the case was transferred from a court to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Minna, on June 1, 2026.

He explained that the complainant reported that on May 31, 2026, around 1pm, the security guard, Sani Abdulrahman, allegedly took the two children out and never brought them back.
