BREAKING: Dangote Refinery Slashes Jet Fuel Price

Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of aviation fuel (Jet A1), bringing it down from N1,750 per litre to N1,650 per litre in a move aimed at easing pressure on airlines and stabilising fuel supply across Nigeria.

The price change was confirmed in a statement released on Monday.

Alongside the reduction, the refinery also introduced a 30-day interest-free credit arrangement backed by bank guarantees for fuel marketers and airline operators. It also said it is moving away from dollar-based pricing to a naira-denominated system.

Industry players say these measures are designed to reduce the heavy financial burden currently faced by domestic airlines, where aviation fuel remains one of the biggest operating costs.

Over time, rising Jet A1 prices have been a major concern for airlines, with operators warning that it affects flight operations, profitability, and ticket prices.

With this latest adjustment, the refinery’s decision is expected to provide some relief to the aviation sector by lowering fuel costs, improving operational stability, and helping to ease pressure on airfares for passengers.
