There is deep sadness in Ogudu community in Lagos State following the death of its traditional ruler, Oba Nojeemdeen Fashola.
Palace sources confirmed that the respected first-class monarch passed away peacefully in the early hours of Thursday at his home in Ogudu.
Although details surrounding his death were not officially disclosed, the palace stated that the king died “in peace.”
His passing has thrown the entire Ogudu community in Kosofe Local Government Area into mourning. Residents, chiefs, and well-wishers have continued to pay tribute to him, describing him as a calm, wise, and humble leader who served his people with dedication.
Following Yoruba tradition, several activities in the area were reportedly reduced as a sign of respect. Some markets and business operations also slowed down in honour of the late monarch.
Oba Fashola became king about four years ago and was seen as a symbol of unity and cultural preservation in Ogudu land.
During his reign, he was known for being approachable, peaceful, and deeply committed to the progress and welfare of his community.
