Veteran Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has said that one of the biggest problems facing the Nigerian film industry is internal sabotage.

Speaking in an interview with BBC, the actor claimed that Nollywood is filled with people who work against one another, making progress difficult.

He explained that if he had the power to change one thing in the industry, it would be to remove those he described as saboteurs. According to him, some individuals in the system are more focused on blocking others than supporting growth.

Jim Iyke said, “If there is one thing I would love to change about Nollywood, it would be to remove saboteurs. The industry is full of them. They need help.”

Beyond his criticism of the industry, the actor also shared a personal highlight in his career. He said one of his proudest moments was when his son watched him act and called him a “genius.”

He revealed that the comment deeply moved him and made him emotional to the point that he had to step away and cry privately.

The actor also mentioned that among his colleagues, he enjoys working with fellow actress Kate Henshaw the most, praising her professionalism and talent on set.
