Real Madrid have confirmed that midfielders Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni have each been fined €500,000 after a disciplinary issue at the club’s training ground.

The punishment is reported to be the highest internal fine ever issued in the history of the Spanish giants.

According to reports, the decision followed a disagreement between the two players during a training session, which led to a physical confrontation.

Valverde was said to have suffered an injury during the incident and was briefly taken to hospital for medical checks. He is now expected to miss Real Madrid’s upcoming LaLiga match against Barcelona, while Tchouaméni has already returned to training.

In an official statement, the club confirmed that both players were invited for questioning as part of an internal investigation.

The statement said both footballers expressed regret over the incident and apologised to each other, their teammates, coaching staff, the club, and supporters.

It added that both players also accepted responsibility and agreed to cooperate fully with the club and accept any disciplinary action.

Following the review, Real Madrid decided to impose a €500,000 fine on each player, bringing the internal disciplinary process to a close.
